Well, I just realized that my current "Recent Deviation" wasn't wonderfully pretty (the orange one), and I needed to get something else up quick .... so this is one that I've been meaning to submit for a while - quite a pleasant lake in Val d'Isère, in the Alps.

It's not particularly wonderful quality overal, I have to say. Canon are right when they say that snow ruins photographs! Especially after being run through Neat Image: I may have to give that a miss from now on. A bit of scaling down generally removes the worst of it I think.

Other editing was to do with tone levels and brightness/contrast. It seems to have brought out a bit of a blue tinge to the whole view, which I quite like as it says something about the temperature.

I have to say that the lack of snow in the foreground doesn't help much, but then tha's what you get for no going in winter
Luckily there was enough of it, though, to break my camera's fall when I dropped it a few moments prior to taking this photograph.

Anyway, for all it's faults, it is a nice replacement for that orange one
